HAKONE GINYU -Extra Reports(1)-
The approach to the esthetic facility at "Hakone Ginyu" goes down to the 1st floor (the entrance floor is on the 5th floor), past the garden lounge "Myo-jo" and further along the green hallway "Yamakusa-no-Koji" to finally reach it. | |
Approach to "Ginyu Spa", "Yamakusa-no-Koji" |
One element that attracts many women to "Hakone Ginyu" is its excellent esthetic facilities. The level of esthetic facilities is incomparable to that of other ryokan, and rivals that of high-class resort hotels overseas. But that is not all. The level of the therapists is also very high. Most esthetic salons in onsen ryokan are operated by tenants, but "Hakone Ginyu" insists on its own original staff. This is a service that directly touches the skin, so perhaps they want to take responsibility for it. It is also unusual for a 20-room inn to have four to six therapists on staff at any given time. This is not surprising, since the spa is full every day, even on weekdays, and most of the female guests make reservations. |
|
Relaxation room at "Ginyu Spa" |
The menu includes body treatments, facial treatments, reflexology, and more, but now you can receive esthetic treatments at Hakone Ginyu even if you are not staying overnight. The healing effects of an esthetic treatment in a sophisticated urban setting versus one in a resort in the great outdoors are overwhelmingly superior to the latter. The facilities, techniques, and environment at "Hakone Ginyu" spa are all in perfect order, which is why guests consider it the "The ultimate esthetic experience". |
Pair treatment rooms at "Ginyu Spa" |
Such an esthetic facility used to exist on the 4th floor of the main building. If anything, it was in a position overlooking or looking out over the Hakone mountains through the glass. However, in order to create the effect of "Healing from the five senses", a new spa was built outside of the building in the forest. That is the "Ginyu Spa". The catch copy is " A spa of pleasure in a mysterious forest". It opened in September 2010. |
Water garden at "Ginyu Spa" |
This is where the "Shofu", a detached hot-spring bathhouse, originally stood. It was boldly reborn as a spa pavilion. The remnants of the bathhouse is a free-flowing hot spring. The spa at "Hakone Ginyu" spa is also a collaboration with natural hot spring water. This is a unique spa experience in a hot spring area that cannot be found in the city. |
100% free-flowing open-air bath at "Ginyu Spa" |
The "Ginyu Spa" is open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (last admission at 6:00 p.m.). Guests staying at the inn can save 1,000 yen. Moreover, a further 5% discount is available for use between 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It is recommended to use the room before check-in in the form of early check-in to avoid congestion. Men's use is also accepted. Pair rooms are also available, so couples can take a treatment together. For details of the menu, please refer to the official website. Even if you cannot stay overnight, day trips are currently available. Even men who are not having treatment can use the large bath while their female partner is having esthetic treatment. |
