FUMOTO RYOKAN -Extra Reports(3)-
One of the best places to visit is "Patisserie Roku", located directly across the street from the ryokan on the corner of Igozaka. The sweet aroma wafts outside the store, and many customers are lured in by it. The shop offers a variety of western-style confections made only with ingredients from the Aso, such as "Jersey milk" and "Soyo no Tsuki" brand eggs. The landlady fell in love with the taste and opened the store as a branch of the one in Uchimaki. There are a few chairs in the store, and you can eat it right after you buy it. |

The menu changes with the seasons. The most popular sweets are the "Roku-n-Roll" roll cakes, which come in a variety of flavors: plain, cacao-flavored "Roku-no-Kuro", green tea, and "Kinako no Nonoji-Maki (kinako wrapped in soybean flour)". The boxed "Hanjyuku(half-cooked) cheese cake" is also popular because it can be shared. |
|
"Roku-n-Roll" plain flavored Aso's local egg "Soyo no Tsuki" is used to create a fluffy dough for this roll cake. |
"Roku-n-Roll" green tea flavored This roll cake is made with a richly flavored dough using carefully selected powdered matcha green tea. |
"Roku-n-Roll, Roku-no-Kuro" Roll cake with high-quality bamboo charcoal and black cacao from Yatsushiro, south of Kumamoto, mixed into the dough. |
"Roku-n-Roll, Kinako no Nonoji-Maki" The fluffy dough is mixed with black sesame grains and powder to create a highly flavorful roll cake. The cream is mixed with soybean flour produced in Aso. |
"Hanjyuku cheese cake" It is characterized by its mellow cheese aroma and its melting mouthfeel. |
"Camembert cheese cake" Soufflé-type round cheese cake baked with Camembert cheese. |
"Jizo pudding" Smooth pudding made with freshly picked eggs from Soyo. |
"Aso milk cheese pudding" A rich pudding with a particularly strong milk flavor. |
Gifts can be nice, but when you smell the sweet aroma of sweets, it makes you want to eat something right there. We recommend the "Shio Koji Cream Puff". It is a pastry filled with custard cream with Oguni Jersey milk in a crispy dough flavored with salted rice malt. The front of the store is always crowded with people eating these cream puffs. How about one after checking out at Fumoto Ryokan? |
