KANNON ONSEN -Extra Reports(1)-
It is not only the hot springs that form this inn. The inn has a system in place that allows it to be self-sufficient in a wide variety of products on the premises. The inn is truly a "local production for local consumption". For example, many of the tomatoes and other vegetables served as ingredients in dishes are grown in plastic greenhouses on the hill back of the accommodation buildings. The restaurant grows as many as 300 varieties of vegetables, including the specialty of tomatoes, which is a surprise. In addition to vegetables, they also grow flowers to decorate the inside of the building. |

What is even more remarkable is that the energy for these plastic greenhouses is supplied by solar power. Large solar panels, 20 meters wide, are installed next to the greenhouses to generate electricity to heat the ground. The solar panels are also installed on the roof of the main building and in the PET bottle filling plant to supply electricity to the facility. The inn, which has developed through a series of dialogues with nature in this rich natural setting, says that it was natural for it to pay attention to the environment. President Kazue Suzuki said, "One day, we hope to supply the entire inn with electricity". |

On the site of the martial arts hall that originally stood at the inn, a PET bottle filling factory now stands. Located right next to the No.1 source of spring tower, the plant fills PET bottles without exposing them to the air from the approximately 51°C source that bubbles up from 600 meters underground. Here, visitors can also observe the work process in a clean room partitioned off by glass. The factory is also equipped with panels that generate electricity from solar energy. |

The inn, which covers a vast area, is equipped with a helipad at the highest point on the property. By helicopter, it takes only one hour to reach the inn, even from the Tokyo metropolitan center. By the way, if you fly in at sunrise or sunset, you can see the beautiful and fantastic Red Fuji. |

Many celebrities from various fields have been attracted to this hot spring. This may be due in part to the charm of the inn, but also to the personality of Chairman Kazue Suzuki, who manages the inn onsite. |
|
Actor Ken Matsudaira, also known as MATSUKEN, is a repeat guest of the inn. In September 2007, he invited 110 fans to a photo session and one-man show. |

In the entertainment industry, Keiko Takeshita, Michiko Godai, Misaki Ito, and Tamao Sato are also fans of this hot spring. Not only is it good for the skin, but drinking it is also good for beauty, making it a must-have for actresses. In the sports field, judoist Ryoko Tani Ryoko, a.k.a. "Yawara-chan," also held a four-day, three-night personal training camp from June 21 to 24, 2005, when she was an athlete. It was the year after she won the gold medal at the Athens Olympics, and between training sessions, she went to a hot spring to rehabilitate her injured limbs. |

As well as Yawara-chan, many martial artists have visited this hot spring, including the above-mentioned Antonio Inoki. There is also a gym, and former WBA world super lightweight champion Akinobu Hiranaka and Satoshi Sayama, the first Tiger Mask, have visited the inn. Professional baseball players, including Nippon Ham players when the team was based in Tokyo and the Taiyo Whales, the predecessor of the Yokohama Bay Stars, have also frequently visited the inn for training. |
