KANNON ONSEN -Article(2)-
The garden in front of the entrance, completed in 2011, was envisioned by the president himself, and she and her staff worked hard to create it. The garden, which uses natural trees and stones from the mountains, has been under construction for a long time and has finally been completed. This garden will continue to change constantly in the future. Changing and evolving in form is consistent with this unparalleled onsen ryokan. For Kazue, this place is a canvas of nature. Whether it is a single flower or a single stone, everything on the property is in her mind, and she has transformed this inn with one idea after another. |

The Kannon Principle, a day-trip and private hot spring facility completed in August 2010, is also an adventurous experiment. The facility was originally built to house the luxurious "Galatea," a public bathhouse for men and women, but the construction of an additional bathing facility of this scale was a bold undertaking. This is all possible because of the abundant spring water that is a blessing of this land. The baths can be used as private baths, especially during the night, and since the baths can be monopolized as they are in the large bathhouse with open-air baths, it is safe to say that the scale and quality of the hot springs are among the best in Japan. |

Chairman Kazue Suzuki was told by his predecessor, "This is a 50-year plan, so your generation is the generation that will have a hard time". Come to think of it, counting from 1963, when the company was founded, it will soon be 50 years old. However, it seems that "Kannon Onsen" has been completed in its entirety without waiting for its 50th anniversary. It has welcomed a wide range of customers and has many "Kannon Onsen" followers. |
|
Many celebrities from various fields are also fans of the inn, who can be said to be devotees. Among them, professional wrestler Antonio Inoki has visited the inn many times. He may have liked the inn, but it is also true that he and Kazue hit it off. In fact, Mr. Inoki himself once invited Ms. Kazue to Inoki Island in the Republic of Palau. |
|
Mr. Antonio Inoki and Chairman Kazue Suzuki
Both persons seem to have resonated greatly with each other in that they are both energetic and superhuman in their power of action.
When we think of Antonio Inoki, various quotes come to mind. The famous, "Do not be afraid of what will happen if you go this way. If you fear, there is no path. If you step out, your first step will be the path. Go without hesitation. You will understand", said the monk Ikkyu Wajo. This message about the "path" was displayed in the hotel. Other messages included, "I believe that people grow old when they stop walking and when they give up trying" and "Whether a flower blooms or not, being alive is a flower". There are many words that resonate with me, such as. In an interview with Chairman Kazue Suzuki, who leads this inn, I received several words about management and life. Many of her words of wisdom are similar to Inoki-ism, and I would like to share them with you here. "People go for the easy way out. That is why, to be outstanding, you have to put yourself in an environment where you have to struggle." "Japanese people like to imitate others, but a manager must have a philosophy of his own." "Economic activities are offensive. I don't know anything about defense. The time to defend is the time to sell." "It is impossible to be a manager who does not know the field." Her words, which came from her own experience, were like a heavy spirit of words. While maintaining a very stoic attitude toward herself, her personality is clear and openhearted, with a broad mind reminiscent of the great ocean. I got the impression that she was a bright light in a dark age. It is quite understandable why celebrities from all walks of life seem to be drawn to this inn. |

By the way, the dog running around Kazue during the interview was a French bulldog named Akkun. He is a mascot, loved by the inn's repeaters. He is a great comfort to Kazue, who is always busy with her daily routine. |
