The ryokan is also a convenient place to explore Yufuin's hot spring resort area.
A five-minute walk from the ryokan is a pond called Kinrin-Ko (Lake).
It is defined as a “"Pond"” because of its shallow depth, but the Yufuin basin was originally a lake, and the name “"Kinrin-Ko"” is thought to be a remnant of that. Hot springs and fresh water gush from the bottom of Kinrin-Ko, and in the early morning of winter, the difference in temperature creates a fantastic sight of fog rising from the surface of the lake. We hope you will take a morning stroll and enjoy the scenery, which is one of Yufuin's most famous landmarks.

The moss-covered garden of the building is well balanced with flowering trees. You will feel the wabi and sabi atmosphere that is unique to "Soan Kosumosu". |

One of the most popular dishes in "Soan Kosumosu" is special shigureni (Ginger simmered food in sweetened soy sauce), made with Bungo beef, which is only certified as having a meat quality grade of 3 or higher. Its deliciousness has often been featured in the media. Note that, Shiki Koubo's main products can also be purchased at their online store.

The head chef at “Soan Kosumosu” is Mr.Ito. He is the fourth-generation chef. Let me introduce his dinner menu. The dinner menu at “Soan Kosumosu” is a creative kaiseki cuisine that allows you to taste the season of Yufuin.
