TATESHINA AI -Extra Reports(2)-

The Tateshina Plateau, where the inn is located, is popular as a driving course, with many leisure facilities, National Route 152, National Route 299 (Marchen Kaido), and Venus Line (former Tateshina Expressway) running through the plateau in all directions.

Especially, the Venus Line is a 76-km long mountain route that runs from Chino to Tateshina Plateau, Lake Megami (1530m above sea level), Lake Shirakaba (1450m), Kurumayama Plateau (1500m), Kirigamine (1650m), Yashima Marsh (1700m), Wada Pass (1550m), Sanbo Viewing Platform (1700m), Door Pass (1660m), Ochiai Bridge (1604m), and Utsukushi-ga-hara Plateau (1959m). This mountain route spanning seven cities, towns, and villages, and offering a variety of forested and highland areas, the beautiful scenery can be easily enjoyed throughout the four seasons.
It is one of the most popular driving routes in Japan, weaving its way through the highlands of the Yatsugatake Chushin Kogen Quasi-National Park located almost in the center of Honshu, and is especially crowded with tourists in the summer season.

The Tateshina Plateau is located at the foot of a Mt. Yatsugatake, and is a good place to visit in the summer as a summer resort, but it also has a different charm in the winter when you can see snow-capped mountains, cool air, and a starry sky that shines with dignity. Taken in March.
